Aaron O’Sullivan
LGBTQIA+ Sexual Health Advisor

Aaron joined the team in February 2022. His role is to provide sexual health advice and support in an understanding and warm environment, on a wide range of matters such as healthy relationships, sexuality, sexual dysfunction, gender and sexual identity.

Aaron completed a degree in Commerce, majoring in economics at UCC. He worked in a variety of roles in the civil service, including in the Equality division of the Department of Justice where he was involved in the drafting of the first National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy. More recently he worked in the Health and COVID-19 team of the Social Policy division in the Department of the Taoiseach.

During his time in the Department of Justice, Aaron was a founding member of the Department’s LGBTI+ staff network. He ran a series of educational and awareness events across different departments as well as various fundraisers for LGBTI+ organisations and domestic violence NGOs during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the staff network Aaron also coordinated the first ever largescale participation of the civil service in the Dublin LGBTQ Pride parade in 2019, with over 600 public servants taking part. Previously he also volunteered with the Gay Project. In September 2021 Aaron returned to UCC to study Medicine.
