At the Sexual Health Centre, we promote positive sexual health and support individuals in need of our help.

We provide our clients with up-to-date and non-biased information and offer a variety of services.

Sexual Health Workshops

We deliver regular sexual health and wellbeing workshops to individuals and groups, including schools, universities, homeless shelters, provision and migrant centres, non-mainstream schools, recovery groups, and more.

We offer specialised teachers’ training programs to ensure appropriate and non-biased sexual education at schools and work closely with universities like UCC and CIT.

Full STI Screening

We offer access to an STI clinic, operating out-of-hours at our Centre every Wednesday from 5pm until 8PM.
The STI screening detects HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.
The standard charge is €70 per STI screen. An appointment is required. Please call 0214275837.


Crisis Pregnancy Support

The Sexual Health Centre supports women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The Sexual Health Centre is a 3 option agency. Our non-directive service provides practical information and support on all your options; parenting, adoption or abortion.

We provide:

  • Free pregnancy tests,
  • Free 1:1 counselling consultations with an accredited counsellor to discuss ALL available options,
  • Free Post Abortion counselling,
  • Free Post Abortion medical check-ups.

Rapid HIV Testing

We offer free 1-minute on-site and off-site HIV testing. Learn more about the work of our KnowNow volunteers and how you can help here.


Support for People Living with HIV

The Sexual Health Centre provides a range of support for people living with HIV, their partners, family and friends.

These include:

  • Regular support groups and meetings.
  • Free 1:1 counselling consultations with an accredited counsellor for you, your partner, or a family member.

It is important to remember that if you have HIV, are on effective treatment, and your viral load is undetectable you won’t pass along HIV to a sexual partner.

The Sexual Health Centre aims to raise public awareness for the U=U (Undetectable=Untransmittable) campaign which highlights this fact.

Disability Support Program

Our trained counsellors and outreach workers run regular sexual health workshops and offer 1:1 support to people with intellectual disabilities.

Marginalised Groups Support Program

We provide support and workshops for a variety of groups, including teenagers from non-mainstream schools, people struggling with substance misuse and abuse, homeless parents and young people, migrants, and the travelling community.

Sex Workers Support Program

The Sexual Health Centre are committed to providing support, testing and information services to women, men and trans* people working within the sex industry. All of the services we provide are completely confidential.

These services include:

  • Free condoms,
  • Free Rapid HIV Testing,
  • Free one-to-one support, in a non-judgmental environment,
  • Sexual health information.

We can provide you with condoms free of charge, just ask at reception for details.  All you have to mention is that you are looking for “The Bag”.  All our condoms carry European Quality Assured Standard and they have all been quality tested.  As well as standard type condoms, we also stock XL and snug fit condoms.

Free Condoms and Free Pregnancy Testing 

We always have free condoms available at the Sexual Health Centre.  You can also avail of a free pregnancy test.


Helpline

The Sexual Health Centre provides a helpline service from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The helpline responds to any query relating to your sexual health.

We want to ensure that your sexual health and wellbeing is supported through information, advice, support and intervention when required. We’ll signpost services nationwide as required. Please call on 021 427 6676.
